一位博主称：跟一个县级融媒体中心主任一起共进晚餐，几杯酒下肚他向我倒起了苦水，谈到县级融媒体的发展前景时一直摇头叹息，他把目前县级融媒体概括为“两无效一浪费”，即记者无效劳动、电视无效传播，结果是在浪费财政资金，他所在的县融媒体中心有工作人员60多人，但没有任何产出，每天播放本地新闻节目收视率近乎为零，唯一的作用有关人员开会调研有摄像机跟着感觉才会有仪式感，除此之外不知道意义在哪。
中国是中央、省、地、县“四级办台”，造成了中国电视频道数量最高达到了2万多个。时至今天，面临着一系列挑战。
首先，电视收视率严重下滑，广告和赞助收入减少。
用户的阅读方式越来越依赖于手机小屏，电视用户流失严重。从开机率走势来看，据统计，2023年第一季度，我国智能电视的日均开机率仅为29.5%，创近五年来的新低。
其次，一些电视媒体决策层、管理层的因循守旧，目前电视节目缺乏新意，同质化严重。
此外，部分地方电视媒体发展资金有限、 高素养人才匮乏，难以生产出高质量、 有传播价值的电视节目。
随着新媒体平台的崛起，电视媒体传统的发行和广告模式大幅缩水已经成为新常态，如果不是有地方政府财政的支持，很多地方电视台很难支撑下去。
只是，大家对传统媒体的衰落已经麻木，甚至没什么人再像当年关注纸媒停刊那样，再去关注那些“停播”的消息。
