据悉，泰国普吉府于8月22日晚开始出现降雨天气，且降雨一直持续到8月23日上午07:00。其中，当地卡伦镇区域经历持续降雨后引发山体滑坡，进而导致民众房屋被泥土压垮。

直至上午09:30，相关部门确认本次山体滑坡已造成7人死亡，其中包括1名缅甸女性劳工、1名泰国女性和1对俄罗斯夫妻。
