标题: 感谢论坛的tx们, 又来发大作文, 关于博物馆的

People do need to visit museums because they can see the objects online for free . Museums are not necessary in people’s lives. To what extent do you agree?

Not only has the computer and Internet revolutionized the way we communicate but we live. One of the telling examples is that some people claim nowadays cyber museums can replace the physical ones due to their numerous advantages. Reasonable as it may sound, I am not in favour of the view.

Firstly, visiting real museums has been a positive way of refreshing oneself. As one of the most popular activities, killing time with families or friends at museums can be an enjoyable experience and it is as important as the family meal time is to small children. In addition, the educational role of museums play can be expressed by a common sense: “ I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand.” By participating in some organized activities at museums, children can learn more about the world outside the classroom. Thirdly, museums can provide scientific researchers with genuine historical objects for their study because of their large collections of exhibits covering a variety of fields.

That is not to say that cyber museums are not worth running. In fact, online museums are more appealing to audiences for they are free to access and available most of time .Furthermore, priceless exhibits can be kept out of reach of thieves if online museums are run. In spite of these merits, they cannot take the place of physical ones because hands-on experience acquired through visiting physical museums is unlikely to attain in the cyber space.

In my opinion, virtual museums cannot replace real ones as is mentioned above, however, I believe they may co-exist for a long time in the future, which undoubtedly enriches people’s lives.
