How to educate children is a chronic problem that bothers scholars, teachers and parents. Some people claim that rewarding can help children to cultivate a good habit while others argue that punishing is a more effective way. From my perspective, both of the two approaches have their merits and demerits.<br />

On the one hand, the benefits of rewarding can not be denied. Obviously, rewarding could stimulate the activity of children to behave in a honest and integrate way. Through a proper price and some deliberate guidence, they can be taught to act in a good manner. Through a mechnaism of punishment, children can learn to distinguish a good manner and a bad manner, which definitely helps to reduce juvenile delinquency. Given the reasons listed above, I would conclude that neither of the two methodologies are flawless. What we should do is to strike a wise balance between rewarding and punishing and take the advantages of the two approaches to guide children to grow up healthly. <br />
