(Listening)
It depends on how much time you have been immersed in it!
阅读(Reading)
譬如,我在做剑六的时候,就注意到A类有篇文章其中的一段这样开头:the competing argument holds that…..
(Writing)
举个简单的例子,我用for one thing替换掉for example,consequently替换掉therefore。
例如,healthy可以用wholesome,if可以用Provided that,good用beneficial,worker用commuter。
1. Children are less repectful and polite than before. Explain reasons and solutions.
A new social phenomenon is frequently spoken of these days that the importance of politeness and respect in children’s minds has become increasingly negligible. Some begin to like interrupting others, calling adult names directly, sneering and behaving in selfish ways. Therefore, this issue has drawn widespread attention. As far as I am concerned, there are several factors responsible for this case.
The first reason is that the impolite behavior often runs in the family. As is well known, parents are the most conversant teachers for each child, which any activity of theirs might be imitated. it is often observed that children lacking of politeness have these parents who are rude and make unreasonable demands as well. So it is quite easy that children make inapproriate and impolite behaviors studying from the adults.
Another reason is that the generation gap between adults and children tends to be increasingly wide. For one thing, adults face more fierce competition with great pressure nowadays so that they are too busy on work to share time with children. Consequently, children gradually become to get accustomed to resolving problems independently as they are confronted with difficulties, which results in they lacking of trust and respect to adults.
Finally, numerous youngsters behave in impolite ways to gain attention. Impolite children desire far more notice than those who behave in acceptable ways. For some children, bad attention is better than no attention at all. Some of these kids have a reputation to live up to.
To solve the issue, I believe the following solutions are appropriate. Firstly, it is essential that parents should set a good example for their children and make them understand the value of politeness. Moreover, parents also ought to spend more time in giving children more cares rather than on work. Eventually, adults could accept the children's inappropriate behavior and provide them correct guidance.
2. Some people say television contributes more than other modern invention to the quality of the life of ordinary people. Agree or disagree?
In the past decades, TV has been playing a significant role in our daily lives, which takes us walking into a new colour world. Therefore, One’s inclination appears that neither of modern inventions is much greater than television. In my opinion, however, I disagree entirely with this point of view.
Initially, it is universally acceptable that TV is indeed a great invention in the recent centuries. It enriches our experience and broadens our horizons. There are numerous channels and various types of programs on TV, including news, sports, series and entertainment, which makes our lives tedious no longer. Furthermore, it allows “instant” connections to the world so that we are all able to be in touch with events going on rather than waiting for the newspaper which might be biased.
However, is TV really the greatest modern invention in our daily lives? As I see it, there are several inventions far more beneficial to us than television with an intellectual breakthrough in last century. For instance, the airplane changes our earth into a village and makes it easy for individuals from Shanghai to Sydney, which only takes nealy 10 hours. Moreover, computers are already widely used for us in creating documents or connecting to the internet for extended information. One person in Tokyo also shares his life experiences with another in London simultaneously just by typing words through internet. Besides, another of the greatest inventions is satellite. Provided that without satellites, how could we forecast the weather of next day? How could we make use of GPS? Even how could we transmit videos and sounds from an event spot to TV screen?
As discussed, despite of the fact that televison affords us entertainment and pleasure, there are numerous modern inventions more indispensible. Simply believing television contributing more than other modern inventions is not reasonable.
3. Does money make people happier?
Money is certainly something which is often discussed in today's world. Hardly a day goes by without the subject of money being raised in most people’s lives. However, it is highly debatable whether it is more important than other considerations, such as health and happiness, which some people consider to be of greater significance.
To begin with, it is often argued that having money enables people to exert influence over others. Wealthy businessmen, for example, are often the most highly respected members of society, and business tycoons even make policies which affect the whole population. As a consequence, money can be seen as the single most important factor of daily life. Secondly, from the point of view of the individual, money is vital for survival. In most societies, it is structured in such a way that, without money, people are deprived of the means to obtain proper nutrition and health care. That means he or she would have inablity to pay heating bills or edcuation fees.
On the other hand, many people claim that health, one of the factors in life, is undoubtedly of greater importance than money health. They believe that health is 'a blessing that money cannot buy'. Despite the fact that money can pay for the best medical care available, this is no guarantee of a longer life. In addition, most people would agree that personal happiness easily outweighs money in importance. Even if an individual is extremely rich, this does not necessarily lead to happiness. In some cases, the contrary is true and vast wealth brings with it a whole range of problems and insecurities. Genuine happiness cannot be bought and is usually independent of financial status.
On the whole, although there are those who would rank money as the single most important thing in life, the vast majority would disagree. Money, they argue, has an important part to play but perhaps the world would be a more harmonious place to live in if this were kept in proportion and society put more emphasis on moral issues.
口语(Speaking)
