People who read for pleasure can develop better imagination and good language skills than those who prefer to watch TV. Do you agree or disagree?

花了近两个小时,中间查了几个单词,感觉现在写理由段有点不会写平实点的句子

顺求评分,估计真实在考场上写得照这篇减1分的样子

To a large extent I agree with the opinion that reading is more effective than watching TV in terms of stimulating people's imagination and developing their literacy.

One the one hand, attitude determines everything. Reading, even for pleasure, is an active behavior, through which people think actively and read selectively. In most cases, reading is one of activities people enthusiastically participate in. Therefore, with passionate and patience, whatever people gain from reading is expressive. By contrast, people are passive to accept the visions from TV. Although people can choose what programmes to watch, they are more tend to choose an entertaining programme rather than a studying programme, in other words, people by nature pursue comforts when they want to relax. Compared with reading, watching TV has the inherent advantage of that empowers people to be lazier which hinders the development of language skills.

On the other hand, reading grants more imaginative space to reader. As there is no pictures and videos in book, people have to imagine the stories depicted in the book. If people read the book <Harry Potter> before watching that movie, different people definitely have different images of the main character Harry Potter. But once the films are watched, the image of Harry Potter hardly varies from different people. Since vivid images provided by TV, it is inevitable that people accept the existing setting and would connect to the current one when they try to imagine. Watching videos, which is more likely to instill one's minds,  actually restrict audiences' minds and impedes them to expand their outlook.

In conclusion, I concede that many educational programmes are quite useful and indeed can help people to develop their imagination and language skills. However, watching TV pales in comparison with reading effectively and efficiently.
