Topic: Nowadays, many people do longer work hour and have more stressful to their, what do you think and how employers to do?
In the present age, the issue of that people have overload of work on their shoulders and have been under higher stress has triggered a heated discussion. Lots of problems, such as unbalance of life and work, unhealthy in physiology and psychology are produced by this issue. In this essay, I would like to analyze the causes of this issue and bring up some effective measures.
Of multiple reasons, the most obvious one might be that people have to work for longer hour because of the increasingly business competition. It is apparent that business competition has been becoming more drastic in modern society, so that employees have to contribute more hours on working to ensure that company can benefit from higher productivity with lower cost for keeping employer’s profits increasing. Besides, the overmuch workforce probably will be the responsible for this issue. It is reported that increasing graduate students coming into workforce market, but the job vacancies are not enough for them, so that the competitions of job seeking and job keeping are going drastically. Undoubtedly graduate students are willing to work longer for getting the first jobs, while company employees have no choice to contribute longer hour for keeping their jobs. Finally, it seems that high living cost also leads to this issue. It is mainly due to the fact that house price and medicine expense are too high to be afforded. Consequently people would like to contribute much more time on working after hour for the handsome overtime pay to keep their life-qualities well.
Accordingly, I will propose three solutions for employers to solve this problem. First of all, it is apparent that technology improvement should be the best way to improve productivity. Absolutely the companies should improve and update the technology instead of requiring employees to work long time for productivity improvement. Moreover, employees should have a flexible working schedule, even be allowed to work at home by employers, so that people can have more time for taking care of their families. Last but not least, it is evident that fully welfare services will help employees to keep their life-qualities well, thereby the fully welfare services should be provided by employers to their employees, including health care, house allowance, traffic bonus, and so on.
In summary, except for the reasons offered above there are still other factors giving rise to this problem. But I think if employers take some effective measures to solve it, their employees will have a good balance of work and life.
