Topic: Many people migrate from large cities to small towns for lower living costs and better environment, do you think advantage of this development outweigh its disadvantage?
In modern society,undoubtely whether or not people should migrate from big cities to small regions has become a hot issue of ordinary people's life. The issue has triggered a heated discussion and generated different views. Some people say that is beneficial for people to live in a small town, while others insist that it is not convenient for people to leave large cities and move to small regions. Personally I think the former is more convincing and I would qualify it to some extent.
Firstly, the environment of large city is becoming more awful. Obviously the small towns are better in environment than the big cities. It is evident that people suffer kinds of terrible diseases in the modern cities as the result of continually exasperating environment. If people move to regional areas, they can be far away from the risk of pollution and keep healthy easily
Secondly, the living expense in modern cities is much higher than small towns. Probably we can take the house price as the example. The medium house price in Beijing, the capital city of China is approximately $300,000, whereas it is reported that the medium price for buying a house in a small region near Beijing is just about $100,000. It seems clearly that houses in the small region are more affordable than the large modern city-Beijing.
Obviously, we can not deny the fact that living in small towns has brought us some inconvinience, such as lack of transports, few shopping centers, and few job opportunities. However these have already been history. The public facilities have always been on-going provided and the job opportunities are increasing as more and more people moving to the regional areas. It will be more convinient for people to live in the small towns than before.
Having considered all the arguments above, we may safely draw the conclusion that migrating from big modern cities to small towns will bring a lot of benefit to people. Most people can have comfortable lifestyle with good environment and less living cost.
