我看到过复数和单数都有的情况,最直观的就是题目里Some people think that...
people是不可数,若用单数应该是some people thinks
纠结啊。。。

The forty-seventh essay

It has been suggested that everyone in the world want to own a car, a TV and a fridge. Do you disadvantages of such a development outweigh advantages?

Answer:

As many of countries on this planet are developing rapidly in this day and age, every people has been suggested to want to own a car, a TV and a fridge. In my view, it is a sort of waste when everyone really owns those things.

Undoubtedly, the suggestion reflects people's good living standards in developing countries in present-day society. The car means people can use the convenient transportation to get to their destinations; the TV refers to people would have enough entertainments to relieve their pressure; the fridge implies people have sufficient foods to enjoy their every single day. But most of people not living single, they might always live with their family. Thus that is unnecessary to own those things everyone but a family.

However, if everyone really owns those things, the world could become more polluted and crowded than before and the natural resources would be under pressure. First and foremost, this planet has a population of about seventy billion. If everyone owns a car, there are seventy billion cars altogether. I would be hard-pressed to imagine that how many poisonous gas discharged by cars could be directly emitted to the air everyday. Likewise, these cars also need ground to park, while the ground in the cities is limited. Additionally, seventy billion refrigerators and television as well as cars could put heavy pressure on natural resources because they will use numerous petrol and electricity for running.

Summarily, everyone owns a car, a TV and a fridge reflects people's good living standards. However, that also would make our world polluted and crowded and would put heavy pressure on natural resources. Personally, because of the reason I mentioned upon, the disadvantages of this development outweigh advantages.

The forty-eighth essay

People's attitude towards international travel tunes to be more prejudiced instead of open-minded. Why & Solutions.

Answer:

As human transportation has developed rapidly in this day and age, people have been allowed to travel around the world. Somehow, their attitudes towards international travel become biased. In this essay, I will analyse some probable reasons and propose some solutions.

First and foremost, the misunderstanding caused by cultural difference between the tourists and the locals is the main reason of bias. Even though globalisation as well as global village has linked the people and countries on this planet closer than before, but every country always has its own cultural identity. As a consequence, different cultures could create conflicts and misunderstanding between the tourists and the locals thereby creating bias as well. Likewise, many of couriers currently might often prompt tourists to purchase goods and souvenirs instead of guiding them to visit tourist attractions, which end up causing tourists to have bad impressions and prejudice against the countries they visited.

However, the governments' efforts would improve this situation. The most important measure they can take is to publicise the taboos of their culture which could severely cause the conflicts between tourists and locals. Similarly, they would also publicise their culture and places of interest for the sake of letting tourists around the world really understanding their cultural identities and the countries' prides. In addition, as long as governments could take actions to restrict tourist agencies' promotional behavior, tourists might enjoy their visits and know the national culture really.

Summarily, In my opinion, the misunderstanding and tourist agencies' promotional behavior cause tourists' bias. But governments might take measures to publicise their cultural identities and regulate agencies' behavior in order to improve the situation.

The forty-ninth essay and report

Laterly, more and more work has to be done by machines. Do you think the positive effects of this development outweigh the negative effects on individuals and society?

Answer:

As human society has developed rapidly in various areas in this day and age, there increasing labour-saving machinery and labour-replacing machinery have occurred. Consequently, whether its positive effects outweigh negative effects has been a frequent topic to discussion.

Undoubtedly, people have greatly benefited from those machines in present-day society. First and foremost, many of people might not be tied down by the most of household chores any more due to household electric appliances' help. Now they can have more time to study, do exercises and accompany their family members. Likewise, the manufacturing equipment in factories not only save workers' labour for work but also make workshops more productive and effective than before. However, because many of people's work have been replaced by machines, there some of negative effects might be appeared.

Admittedly, the rate of unemployment might be boost because of the development of labour-replacing machinery. More precisely, machines have sufficient abilities to compete with persons for job opportunities. For instance, machinery is needless to pay, rest and sleep so they can be employed to work all the time for free. Even though they need person to operate and control but the human employees would be downsized due to machines. However, machinery cannot really replace human in various areas currently.

Summarily, humankind has greatly benefited from machinery's work. Although it can boost the rate of joblessness, but in my view, as machines cannot really replace persons' work in various areas, so I believe the positive effects of this development outweigh its negative effects.

Report

The charts below show the results of a survey of adult education. The first chart shows the reasons why adults decide to study. The pie chart shows how people think the costs of adult education should be shared.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Answer:

the charts illustrate the consequences of a survey of adult education. The bar chart describes the causes of adults determine to study and the pie chart summarises how people believe the costs of adult education should be shared.

According to the bar chart, there are seven reasons in the chart: interest in subject, to gain qualifications ,helpful for current job, to meet people and so on. More precisely, interest in subject occupy the largest proportion (40%) of the reasons for study and the second large proportion is accounted for 38% by to gain qualifications. By contrast, to meet people represent the smallest percentage (9%).

We can see from the pie chart that three groups should share in the costs of each course. To be more exact, individual occupy 40% and employer constitute 35% while taxpayer just make up 25%.

Therefore, it can be clearly seen from two the charts that most of people study for interest in subject and most of people think individual should share in the costs of adult education.

The fiftieth essay and report

Some people think that men and women have different qualities. Therefore, some certain jobs are suitable for men and some jobs are suitable for women. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Answer:

The difference between men and women is a frequent topic to discussion. In terms of different qualities between men and women, some people believe jobs should be segregated by gender.

As a matter of fact, the different qualities between men and women definitely affected their performances in different jobs before. In terms of physical qualities, most of men are stronger than women. As a consequence, most of men can be competent for heavy physical labour whereas women might hardly adjust themselves to take this kind of jobs. Likewise, women also have their inherent advantages then men. To some extent, women are more patient, careful and circumspective than men. Therefore, they might perform better than men in some occupation such as nurse and so on.

However, as technology has developed rapidly in this day and age, the different qualities between men and women has created fewer effects in various occupations. Increasing labour-saving machinery and labour-replacing machinery can compensate women's strength, thus they also can control the machine to carry heavy things. Furthermore, some scientists have confirmed males and females working together can make employees happier and work more efficient because of effects of hormone. So it seems it is unnecessary to segregate jobs by gender currently.

Summarily, the different qualities between males and females obviously affected their performances in various jobs before. But currently, as technology has developed, the difference has been slight. Additionally, men and women work together can make them happier and work more effective. Because of those, personally, I disagree with segregating jobs by gender.

Report

The graph below shows radio and television audiences throughout the day in 1992.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main feature, and make comparisons where relevant.

Answer:

The line graph describes radio and TV audiences throughout the day in the Britain from October to December in 1992.

According to the line graph, the population of UK over 4 years old watched TV rose before around 8:00 pm and declined after about 8:00 pm. More exactly, at first at approximately 7:00 am about 3% population watched TV. After that, the proportion fluctuated went up to around 15% over about next 7 hours and continued to increase to the highest point at just over 43% around 8:00 pm. Then the line started to dip rapidly until about 5% just under 1:00 am and finally became stable at 5% after around next 5 hours.

As show in the line graph, unlike the TV, the population of Britain over 4 years old listened radio rose before just under 9:00 am and dipped after that time. More precisely, initially, there about 8% population listened radio just over 6:00 am. Then it shot to the peak at roughly 28% around 9:00 am. Finally, the line started to decline stably until around 5% just under 6:00 am.

Therefore, it can be clearly seen from the graph that about 43% population of UK over 4 years old watched TV around 8:00 pm and approximately 28% population listened radio around 9:00 am.
