Some people think taking care of one’s health is not only for individual benefits. It should also be responsibility for society. To what extend do you agree?
Health care is quite popular a topic amongst people in contemporary society with some believes that it should be society’s responsibility to establish and maintain public health care system. Others insist, on the other hand, that each individual should take care of himself.
It is fairly sure that society must care for each individual’s health. In most developed country, there are already mature systems to cater for citizen’s medical care. In this case, most people can be taken good care of when sick. When having some serious disease in emergency, moreover, such a system will share most of the economic burden of the individual, so that he will not be deprived of all his deposit by merely a fatal illness. The developing world, in contrast, mostly does not have such a system that is working smoothly. People living in such a circumstance will not feel secure enough as they are not well secured to cope with a health disaster. This will alter the goal of living from pursing the truth of life to try to make as money as possible in order to be sufficiently safe. Such society, in the end, will become less productive since everyone cares for money only, nothing else.
It is not always the responsibility, however, for society to take care of one’s fitness. Each person, to some degree, needs to take care of himself. A reasonable life style is always necessary, no matter how busy one is. But unfortunately, many young people stay up late until mid-night; miss meals when engaged in work. How can it be possible to become healthy in this way even if the best medical care is available?
What is needed, as described above, is to have government and individual join hands to guarantee each one in good health condition. It is equally important for the former to ensure enough resource for medical care, and for the latter to lead a healthy style of living.
